Big Time Moscow

Big Time Moscow is a blog dedicated to helping people get the most out of their vacation or business trip to Moscow, Russia. It is the best blogging site I've found for Moscow and has really helped to educate not only me but many others to how many fantastic tourist attractions there are in Moscow and the surrounding area!
Moscow was not a destination I would of thought off until now while looking at holidays in Europe but with the help of this blog I have discovered there is a lot more in Russia and Moscow specifically that I could of ever imagined.
One of my favourite blog posts so far has been Big Time Moscow's "10 places to visit in February" and its coverage of the limited time exhibition of the Prague Castle Treasures at the State History Museum. It is a showcase that runs from December to the end of February and features the following:
“It offers more than 100 historical items and artifacts mapping the 1000-year development and architectonic changes of Prague Castle.Among the most valuable exhibits are the 14th-century St Catherine reliquary designed by Petr Parler, one of the architects of St Vitus cathedrals at the Castle, and a candelabrums from the 12th century.”2-16
I would not expect to find such an exhibition of history in Moscow but this has opened my eyes as to the rich history Russia itself has and how much it is growing as hub for both commerce and tourism in the recent years, which will no doubt grow much more with the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Not only is Moscow fantastic for history but it is a very culturally diverse place, I even found a lovely list of food festivals that were taking place in Moscow. These 10 food festivals were very diverse and taking place all around the year, the closest one is Shroventide which is due to take place between the 11th and 12th of March at the Central Alley of the VDNH All-Russia exhibition center. The following is an extract I've taken from Big Time Moscow’s blog post on the Shroventide food festival:
“All visitors will be welcome to enjoy the entertaining program including the National Pancake Fair, exhibitions and performances, concerts and animation program. The visitors will be treated with hot pies, waffles, gingerbread, Czech sausages, burgers, soft mulled wine and coffee.”

This is just one of ten food festivals in their blog and there is many more not covered taking place in Moscow, It is lovely to see a country combine it's own traditions with those of nearby countries to create a culturally diverse food festival like this one to create an experience that everyone will love!

These are just 2 out of 100s or even 1000s of the events being held in Moscow in 2018, for a full range of articles I highly recommend you check out the Moscow Big Time Travel Blog
